After 4 years of writing I am proud to announce that I finally finished my book called:
I chose this title because it is unexpected, provocative, and explains what the book is about.
Specifically, this book is about how Marketing affects our behavior, changing it for the positive and negative, and what we can do when it is for the negative.
This book is about what it truly takes to feel “NORMAL”, as in our own ways, we all looking for it in our lives. We want to be accepted, to fit in, and generally speaking, we want what other people want. But what is “Normal” and who decides on what it should be?
My thesis in the book is that Marketing is affecting our sense of “normality”, by telling us what we should want and who we have to be. But, the world is always changing, and with it what is normal. We are told to want everything, which is impossible. Thus, marketing creates impossible conditions and prevents us from achieving happiness. So, to act Normal, we are forced to act Crazy. And when everyone is acting crazy, the crazy becomes the new Normal.
The Influence, in this case, refers to Marketing, which I did not want to have in the title because it is not a Marketing manual. Rather it is a book about how our lives would be if our lives would not be affected by Marketing, and how to maximize life satisfaction.
